Idling on the button
Water above capacity is wasted. If you walk away, walk away from the button โ the tank holds at max and nothing overflows into profit.
The complete first-session walkthrough of Fill Water Tanks: how the fill-and-sell loop triggers, the documented starter upgrade order, your first pipe and employees, and the road to the $50,000 rebirth. Every number sourced and dated 2026-10-03.
Stand on your plot's red Fill Tank! button until the tank hits capacity, then step off โ the water sells automatically for cash. Spend that cash on the documented starter upgrades (Water Gain $1 โ Tank level 2 $5 โ Tank level 3 $10 โ first employee $15 โ Roll Speed $15 โ Roll Luck $35), roll a pipe for a permanent money boost, and rebirth at $50,000 for a permanent 50% boost and 10 rebirth tokens. That loop, repeated at ever larger scale, is the entire game.
Six steps, in the order the documented sources and walkthroughs support.
Your plot's red "Fill Tank!" button pumps water into your tank while you stand on it. The counter climbs to the tank's capacity โ 10 at level 1. Keep an eye on the number: once it stops moving, every extra second on the button is wasted water.
Stepping off the button triggers the sell: the tank drains and pays cash per unit of water. Both documented walkthroughs show the payout landing the moment you leave the button. Watch your cash jump โ that number per sell is the baseline every upgrade improves.
The documented starter prices make the first purchases easy: Water Gain (x1 multiplier) for $1, Water Tank level 2 for $5, Water Tank level 3 for $10 โ which raises capacity to 100 water per fill. Capacity multiplies every future cycle; the multiplier makes each unit pay more.
Pipes add a money boost to every cycle and survive rebirths. Your first rolls use Roll Speed (3s cooldown, upgradeable for $15) and Roll Luck (x1.1 โ x1.2 odds for $35). A Rusty Pipe is the documented floor pull at x1.1 money; Copper is x1.3. Equip the best pipe from your inventory onto your plot's pipe slot.
The first employee costs $15 and adds +10% tank fill speed, stacking per employee. The community wiki documents a 20-employee ladder up to 200% fill speed ($668,899,403,115 for all 20). Early on, even two or three employees visibly shorten each loop โ time it with the calculator.
At $50,000 the rebirth button unlocks. Rebirthing resets money, workers, and cash upgrades โ but keeps your tank level, buttons, and pipes โ and pays a permanent 50% boost plus 10 rebirth tokens for the rebirth tree. After rebirth, re-run this list: the permanent boost makes every documented price easier to hit the second time.
From the AllThings.how how-to guide (updated August 27, 2026), re-checked at the site-wide October 3, 2026 pass.
| Upgrade | Documented effect | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Water Tank level 2 | Raises tank capacity above the 10-water level-1 cap | $5 |
| Water Tank level 3 | Raises capacity to 100 water per fill | $10 |
| Water Gain | Sale multiplier starting at x1 โ boosts the cash each sold unit of water pays | $1 for the first step |
| Roll Speed | Pipe-roll cooldown from 3s toward 2.8s (creators document a floor near 1.4s late-game) | $15 |
| Roll Luck | Pipe odds multiplier from x1.1 toward x1.2 per step (creators show stacked luck far beyond that) | $35 |
| Second pipe slot | A second passive pipe on your plot | $10M |
Five habits that cost real progress in this game's economy.
Water above capacity is wasted. If you walk away, walk away from the button โ the tank holds at max and nothing overflows into profit.
The starter upgrades cost less than a single mid-game sell. Sitting on $40 unspent while a $1 multiplier compounds every cycle is the classic slow start.
Pipes are permanent money boosts, but you only get them by rolling. The documented $15 Roll Speed and $35 Roll Luck purchases directly raise how often and how well you roll.
A rebirth resets cash upgrades. If you rebirth with a level-3 tank, no pipe, and no buttons, your next run starts at the 50% boost but with none of the multipliers that made $50,000 reachable. Buy permanence first, then rebirth.
No Fill Water Tanks code has ever verified. Income comes from the loop, the play-time rewards, and the Friend Boost โ not from clip captions.
You sell by stepping off the fill button. The tank drains automatically and pays cash per unit of water โ the on-screen prompt flips from "Stand on the button to fill your tank!" to "Step off the button to sell your Water!" There is no separate sell menu in the documented loop.
Water only pays when it is sold, which happens when you step off. Worse, water above your tank's capacity is wasted โ at level 1 the tank caps at 10, so standing on the button after it maxes earns nothing. Fill, step off, collect, repeat.
Water Gain for $1. It multiplies what every sold unit pays, so it boosts all future income before any other purchase. Then Water Tank level 2 ($5) and level 3 ($10, capacity 100), then your first employee ($15, +10% fill speed).
As soon as the roll station is affordable in your first minutes. Even the basic Rusty Pipe gives a documented x1.1 money boost, it sits on your plot generating/passively boosting every future cycle, and pipes survive rebirths โ the best permanence-per-dollar in the early game.
The first rebirth costs $50,000. Money, workers, and cash-priced upgrades reset; your water tank level, buttons, and pipes carry over; and you keep a permanent 50% boost plus 10 rebirth tokens to spend in the rebirth tree.
